It's the Recipe's Fault - Kitchen Screw Ups
- Tom Crawford
The current recipe design has been around for over 3500 years with only minor tweeks in the last 100 years. With all of the things we've learned about information design, brain processing, and performance support, we should be able to design a better recipe...one that doesn't cause screw ups in the kitchen. Other than dropping food on the floor or leaving something in the oven too long, most screw ups are caused by bad design. We'll look at a few of them and how to recognize them in any recipe you read.
