Everything You Need to do Voiceovers, and One Thing You Don't
- Blair Hardman
Voices are used everywhere. Radio, TV, movies, videos, the web, GPS units, telephones messages, and elevators. And everyone has a voice. Why are just a few people being paid to use theirs? Voice actor and DJ Blair Hardman explains.
I have been a national voiceactor for 25 years, and have done hundreds of radio and TV spots, video narration, museum tour audio, and audio books. Recent book projects include Dr. Phil McGraw’s “The Seven Most Challenging Days of Your Life," “The End of Overeating” by Dr. David Kessler, and “Panic” by Michael Lewis.
I own Zone Recording, a digital recording studio in the Wine Country north of San Francisco. There we record and produce all forms of audio including radio ads, bands, singer/songwriters and audio for business. We also teach voiceover and make VO demos.
I also spent a year in the Ice Capades Orchestra, was a Country and Western Marlboro Cowboy in Germany and am a retired crossword puzzle author.
