Right now over 8 million people are living in the country of Peru without access to running water. Putting this into perspective, around 1/3 of the entire country lacks safe drinking water. On top of this Peru is home the the second driest desert in the entire world, and approx. 5 plus million people live here. This is a hug\e statistic knowing that most people do not even know that Peru is home to a desert.
