Costas Schuler, "The Pen Guy," immigrated to this country in 1985 with a dream, that one day, without fear of artistic persecution, he could create a Mercedes car covered in 10,000 pens. His dream came true, and he's now the president of a consulting firm called Art Car Central, traveling the country helping others create and build their own art cars. "If I can make an art car, so can you..."


It's a safe bet that Alan Soule knows more than anyone in this room about electric cars. A longtime enthusiast and advocate, he's active in the North Bay Chapter of the Electric Auto Association, was one of the first people to own a Tesla, and will answer the question "Why Drive Electric Cars?"


One alternative to a car is a scooter. They've been around since the 1950's, but never hit it really big in the USA. But little by little they're gaining a bit more ground. For some they are a way of life, for others a functional alternative to quite so much of a carbon footprint. Either way, they are lots of fun for those willing to brave folks who may not be paying attention, not always certain road conditions and the elements.


Brent Curry is the founder of the Bicycle Forest, a company who's mission is to promote human powered vehicles as a viable form of transportation. Brent will outline several ways in which he has sought to get his message across and the often bizarre and unexpected twists this journey has taken.
