As a volunteer at the UM student station I've been wondering what kind of future there is for a traditional radio station in a world where almost any music can be found on the internet in a manner of minutes.
Originally music was only available in live performances.
Then the invention of the phonograph made it possible to own music.
In modern times the music industry has become more fragmented as the increasing number of sources means you can listen to just what you want to hear.
Is there still any need for an organization that broadcasts random music out into the aether?
Will there be an audience interested in tuning in without knowing exactly what they will hear?
How will the future population's habits be changed by being able to listen to whatever they want whenever they want?
Is there any hope for a station that tries to surprise it's listeners?
Being in the world is hard. But everything happens for a reason. At every level of the business world, from entrepreneurs to middle-managers to entry-level employees, workers share hardships each day that it's enough to make anyone quit. Don't.
