Yes, you know about Watchmen, and Maus, and Sandman, and Ghost World, and Scott Pilgrim, etc. But what are some of the hidden gems of awesomeness in the world of comics? I'll cover as many as I can in 5 minutes. Several will probably involve monkeys. (Because monkeys make everything awesome, especially comics!)


You can be a beekeeper. Over 25 years ago I fell in love with the wonders and excitement of working with these amazing insects. Let me inspire you to be part of the critical work of protecting honeybees.The secret to getting 40,000 stinging insects to do what you want them to do will be revealed, as well as photos of capturing swarms, the beautiful architecture of wild bees, and the pleasure of local honey.


You may not know or care much about copyright law, but don't worry, it cares about you.

No matter who you are or what you do, you are a copyright criminal. This isn't really your fault; but it's true nonetheless.

The liminal areas of the copyright act are, to put it kindly, insane. This talk examines some of those areas, and offers some ways to help change them.


This presentation will be put together by FIRST Robotics Team 830, The Rat Pack. We will talk about the FIRST challenge this year, and about our idea to overcome it.


The current recipe design has been around for over 3500 years with only minor tweeks in the last 100 years. With all of the things we've learned about information design, brain processing, and performance support, we should be able to design a better recipe...one that doesn't cause screw ups in the kitchen. Other than dropping food on the floor or leaving something in the oven too long, most screw ups are caused by bad design. We'll look at a few of them and how to recognize them in any recipe you read.


I've had moments of culture shock since joining Mozilla, but I've always come out more positive on the other side of the shock. Mozilla and other organizations are competing really well in competitive markets despite sometimes extreme openness. Or is it because of the extreme openness?
