Displaying 1-2 of 2 for: gov-20

It's been one year since "change" arrived to Washington DC. Since then, the national technology/media circus has been jumping though hoops to promote this new .gov and that new .gov. Yet, during this same time period, governments across New York have been break through old barriers and re-inventing government. From unprecedented data & information transparency to social media campaigns to unprecedented levels of open source adoption - from all levels of government, Government 2.0 is the Empire State of Mind.

Nic Stern tells us that climate change is the biggest market failure in human history. The externalities that cause failed markets exist because of imperfect information. But there is both too much and not enough data. This is a unique time for indie developers to step in and mine open data sources (e.g. gov2.0) to build apps for web and mobile that bring transparency and insight to everyday decisions. This will expose externalities, reduce corruption and guide us to a viable and sustainable future.
